How Much Should I Weigh Myself?

Your weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds a day!

Weigh yourself at most once a week

This may occur as a result of the foods you eat, salt intake, fluids you drink, and even hormonal changes. So….don’t be married to your scale.

Many of my clients ask me, “How much should I weigh myself?” We all know how our mind can take over with worry and sometimes overdo it with weighing in.

Managing Your Sugar Intake

Keep your sugar intake under 100 grams (max)!

Excessive sugar consumption is a key factor in promoting overweight and obesity, tooth decay and diabetes (2). There is increasing concern that intake of free sugars – particularly in the form of sugar-sweetened beverages – increases overall energy intake and may reduce the intake of foods containing more nutritionally adequate calories, leading to an unhealthy diet, weight gain and increased risk of noncommunicable diseases. Another concern is the association between intake of free sugars and tooth decay. Dental diseases are the most prevalent noncommunicable diseases globally and, although great improvements in prevention and treatment of dental diseases have occurred in the past decades, problems still persist, causing pain, anxiety, functional limitation, including poor school attendance and performance in children, and social impediment through tooth loss

How Much Water Should I Drink Everyday?

Ideally, we should drink half of our body weight in ounces a day.

Hydrate to Lose Weight Smarter

“Water is life’s matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.”
– Albert Szent-Györgyi (discovered Vitamin C)

How much water should you drink a day? You probably know that it’s important to drink plenty of fluids when the temperatures soar outside. But staying hydrated is a daily necessity, no matter what the thermometer says. Unfortunately, many of us aren’t getting enough to drink, especially older adults. Older people don’t sense thirst as much as they did when they were younger. And that could be a problem if they’re on a medication that may cause fluid loss, such as a diuretic.
